The Deep

A day out at The Deep, in Hull.  An excellent place, with plenty of interactive options for Luca and Eben, and good integration of ideas about climate breakdown into the overall experience.  It's an aquarium in Hull's docklands, right on the massive Humber estuary.
We also benefited from the fact that Sheffield has organised its Easter holidays earlier than most other authorities this year, with a view to giving parents cheaper holiday travel/accommodation options. This meant that The Deep was very quiet - there was plenty of time to explore, and there were no crowds, no queues.
The interior is quite dimly lit, keeping the environment comfortable for the fish and other creatures in the massive indoor tanks and pools. So although I've lifted the shadows a bit in the image, it still reflects that setting.
A lovely day.... and now R and I will put our feet up for the evening :-)
