Writing on the wall.

Trier is the birthplace of Karl Marx and the house in which he was born is now a museum. It tells the story of his life and explores his revelance today (from a strong social-democratic perspective).  It was an interesting place to visit, especially in the light of a certain announcements yesterday from the current incumbent of the White House.

We then visited the Toy Museum which provided a complete contrast with its eclectic mix of toys.

Before and afterwards we enjoyed walking around Trier in the sunshines and also visited the Basicala Church and the Abbey of St Matthias; both impressive structures.
