Castles And Churches

This week's W-I-D-E on Wednesday Challenge Theme is ' a treasure ' so on the way to Hereford (UK) I took a detour via Kilpeck to get an aerial view of the Church and Castle which are next to each other. They're a national treasure and in the UK we're blessed with some very old ones!

Kilpeck Castle (1090AD) is a ruin now but once with luxurious accommodation with King John staying a few times in 1211-14 AD.

There's been a church on this site since 640AD!  St Marys and St David one dates about 1140AD!  The church is even more stunning inside than it's beautiful exterior as the church website shows.
