Phil brought his little Marshall round for a bit of TLC. It was making a funny sound he said so he came equipped with his little box of tools and an oscilloscope to investigate. About 10 minutes into looking and chin-scratching with nothing in the way of strange sounds, it started. I suggested that this may have coincided with the little fridge compressor starting up. I demonstrated the potential for it to be electrical interference by holding my phone close to it. Yes, the funny sound is electrical interference. Particularly when you've turned everything up to 11 to better hear the funny sounds. So that was that problem solved. 

Other than that, I washed the van and installed a new fancy seat post in my bike, had a nap and watched Collateral (again).
