Camouflage
Soon the White-throated sparrows will be leaving to move to their summer breeding grounds north of here. They are late molters and frequently look quite shabby at this time of year - but in short order they will all be wearing their best courting feathers. This one is looking thoroughly scruffy, but it allows him to blend in nearly perfectly to the cherry tree (which is covered in big, fat buds!)
Had a nice FT chat with my parents this morning. Can't wait to see them next week - it's been too long.
I spent most of the day editing and tagging all the photos from this past weekend. I am very pleased that I got the final count for the weekend down to about 750 images - no small fete considering how many dogs I photographed. I think every owner will have some images they'll like. As for me, I'm already plotting the next event. I tried some different shots this time just to see how they'd read and surprised myself (pleasantly) with some of them - so will incorporate them into the next shoot. Tomorrow I will need to upload everything into galleries so that the owners can download whatever images they like - I am sure it will not go without some hiccups.
It was cold and blustery today, but at least the sun was out all day. It was a little brisk to spend time outside without a jacket though. Tomorrow is going to be colder but then on Thursday it will get up to 70 F. Gotta love the crazy swings in temperature in the spring.
My daffodils are almost all in full bloom - it looks lovely and so springlike in my garden right now. And the cherry trees should bloom before I leave. I hope so since they always attract a load of bees when they first pop their blossoms.
And tomorrow I am finally getting my tattoo. Stay tuned...
