Arrival!
Well, we finally make it to Madeira!
It’s touch and go whether I’ll actually complete the packing process on time - especially as I’ve forgotten about a phone call from the complex polyp team in Liverpool which seems to take an age.
Still, we park, get through the new scanners at Manchester without the usual taking out of liquids, iPads etc with relative ease - though I’m still taken to a little room to check I’m not carrying any prohibited substances in stoma or catheter! I’m still relying on my walking pole, but much less than I was.
The flight is fine, if somewhat raucous with a stag group and hen party on board - not the usual clientele for Madeira! A couple of the latter group decide to get up out of their seats as we came in to land to be met by near-hysterical shouts from the flight crew to SIT DOWN! As they announce over the PA system once we’re safely on the ground, this was incredibly stupid behaviour anywhere - but especially at ‘one of the 10 most dangerous airports in the world!’ And yes, it was windy as usual!
So we’ve settled into our home for the next two weeks, unpacked and plan to do very little for the next few days.
Blip opportunities are few and far between today, so I’m afraid you’re left with the metal screen over part of the wall covering in our room.
