Marine Lake Sunset
We have been invited to Meols for Mother’s Day, and the plan is to pack for Madeira today and stay with Daniel overnight.
I’m notoriously bad at packing, but had surprised both G and myself by starting the process last Monday - only the medical stuff but still, a start. Since then, however, little has been done and with the need for frequent rests, I soon realise that I’ll not be ready and we’ll have to come back here later. Fortunately, the ever patient G accepts the need to double back without complaint!
Daniel prepares a delicious meal - courtesy of M&S, but poor Lili really isn’t on form today, probably as an emerging molar is really troubling her. I avoid any attempts to pick her up, but she does sit on my knee while I read the first part of ‘The Tiger who came to tea’ - before she’s had enough and wriggles off to find her mum.
Returning home with the bonus of now lighter evenings, the sun’s jousting going down in a blaze of golden glory. We turn and head for the Marine Lake at West Kirby, arriving just as the sun slips below the horizon (better viewed large)
I’ve had a beautiful Mother’s Day card from Lili - such a clever girl to write it all herself! - had a meal cooked by my eldest amd and a
lovely phone chat with my youngest. My back and leg pain seems under controlled and all in all, it’s been a pretty good day!
