Grahamston Iron Company

Situated outside the portal or entrance to the Carron Phoenix Works, to the south of Carron Iron works, between the River Carron and the boundary wall, this plaque is mounted alongside the Grahamston Gate that it refers to.
It was relocated from Grahamston Iron Works in 2001 to this site.
Falkirk and the surrounding area has had a long tradition and history of heavy metal engineering going back as far as the 1600's.
Carron Iron Works and Carron Company being the most famous of them, particularly known for its ordinance production of Cannons for Trafalger and the Battle of Waterloo and at other places on land and sea.
