Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

From Tesco!

Not from Amsterdam at all. I bought these last week, I loved the colour and they are now beginning to move into the wonderful contortions which only tulips can!
A nice quiet day today, I'm very excited about tomorrow as the gardener is coming for the first time. I was so excited about it today that I couldn't wait and went out and did some more moss removal and clearing of the iris bed. It really needs thinning out as do so many other plants in the garden. I'm looking forward to having it all brought back into good order and being able to potter productively over the summer. One of my first tasks is going to be dealing with all my planters which need clearing out and repotting minus the weeds and self seeded additions .
I went round to the Rectory this afternoon, but there was no sign of any work having started there. The joiner did say he might not get his other job finished till mid week, so I wasn't too disappointed. I'll go again tomorrow to see if things are underway.
We had bridge this evening, which always means a quick and very early dinner. I was pleased to be able to encourage my laziness when I spotted a half price paella in Tesco, 7 minutes in the microwave and it was ready! Excellent.
Bridge tonight was the last of the season, so we were happy to win comfortably, thus maintaining our reputation. It also meant I was able to award prizes of the left over bags of sweets to some of those with lower scores. Win win, everyone went home happy. We won't meet again till the first Monday in October.
