Lake District: Ashness Bridge

Featured on postcards, greetings cards, calendars and chocolate boxes, Ashness Bridge is among the most photographed places in the Lakes - if not in Britain. Not too great a sky today to make distant Skiddaw stand out but to be able to blip the bridge with not a tourist in sight is quite satisfying . We had arrived here after a walk over Walla Crag and its fine views over Derwentwater .
