Hillend from Mortonhall

A very showery day, cloudy initially. I did manage a sunny walk around the park in the morning. Leaves are starting to appear on some trees. The blackthorn bushes are losing their blossom, and green leaves are now very evident. Views are rather hazy though. A heavy shower batters the house during lunch, and another just after 2pm. When the sun does appear, despite the fact the outside is quite cool, it feels very warm in the front room.

After work, a walk to get Friday afternoon coffee and cake. A heavy shower has just passed over, so the walk is in sunshine. The path is a bit muddy in places, but not winter muddy. This view of a highland cow set against a backdrop of Hillend was taken from the Mortonhall Estate. We made the effort as we get one free coffee each per month from the café in the garden centre. The next heavy shower passes through while we are having coffee. We look at the plants, then head home.
