Calm streets.

Sundays in Maputo are usually the quietest day of the week by far. This means they are great for peaceful strolls past slumbering fruit sellers.

I went on a long walk along the coast, reminiscent of how I used to spend Sundays when I lived here. Maputo’s seafront won’t win any beauty prizes but it’s a relaxed place. When I’d walked for long enough I had some snacks and a fruit juice on a wall, read my book, and then retraced my steps.
