The Royal Norfolk Regiment
I had a walk over to Weybourne station this morning. A nice walk of about three and a half miles in total from the Holgate Hill car park, most of it next to the railway line. A lovely bright and sunny day but with a cool breeze along the section open to the coast. However, I was fine wearing my gilet and probably would have been too warm in a full jacket.
For now the railway is still only running on Sundays but today there was a 'Mothers Day' dining train in addition to the normal service. The main service (and my main shot) was being hauled by 'The Royal Norfolk Regiment' which I was pleased to see. One of my favourite engines, it was out of service for a repair most of last year and this is the first time I've seen it since it came back.
I've added an extra of the DiningTrain hauled by No 18 which passed me at Windpump Crossing as I headed back to the car. If you look in the distance you can see that it has started a small lineside fire so I kept an eye on it for a little while to see if it needed reporting, but thankfully it died down after a few minutes.
