An ordinary life....

Bandstand in the rain...

I had two exciting appointments today.  When I say exciting...

First one was my dental checkup (now annual rather than six monthly.) I've been with the same dental practice since I was 12 and it now involves a ninety minute round trip as I stayed with them when we moved area in 2012 as the chances of getting onto a new dentist's patient list as a NHS patient is pretty slim.  Full check up and filling replaced for the grand sum of £13.58 so can't complain.

Stopped by the old bandstand installed in 1910.  I've blipped this a few times.  Childhood memories of being in the bandstand pretending it was my stage as I sang to my adoring crowd (in my mind obviously :-) always make me smile when I see it.

Back home in time for lunch then back out again for my second appointment of the day, this time at the wound clinic.  Fortunately that's just down the road, so a shorter journey.  Managed to miss the heavy showers too.  Hailstones at one point!

The lovely nurse removed the dressing and was very pleased with progress.  She said the stubborn little patch has healed nicely and I don't have to go back.  She's given me some breathable dressings to put on over the next few days just to stop clothing irritating it, but should be dressing free by the middle of next week.  Woo hoo!

Back home to complete day 5 of my acrylic painting course.  Worked on the painting for some time, improving some parts of it but losing the nice reflections I'd created yesterday.  Oh well, it's all a learning curve.  And it's certainly better that anything I could have created this time last week, so I'll take that as a win.  I wouldn't say it's finished, as I need to try and rescue some bits, but I'll possibly include it in extras in tomorrow's blip.  The light had gone by the time I finished so didn't photograph it today.  Almost as much paint on me as the canvas by the end! :-))
