Mellow Yellow...
The forsythia has hit its stride, blazing away in the front garden. I love it.
A busy morning in the Cathedral, where it has been setting-up day for the Photo Society's annual exhibition. Usually the setting-up process runs pretty smoothly, as various PS members have been doing this together each year for decades. Not so smooth this morning, however, as a couple of boxes of key items for the display boards got left behind in a member's garage by mistake. So it all got a bit delayed.
We got there in the end, however, and those of us who didn't have to drive across town to get the forgotten items relaxed in the cathedral cafe together for a while. I got talking to two new PS members, a couple I haven't had the chance to chat to before, so that was a bonus. I chatted to another member too, who's due to visit the US soon for work. So we had one of those surreal conversations, the kind we never imagined we might have: would his phone be checked for anything critical of Trump? Recently a French scientist was denied entry to the US, en route to a conference; messages on his phone, expressing criticisms of Trump's policies on scientific research, were deemed to constitute 'hatred' and were described as terrorism. Here's the Guardian report:
