The first year hubby and I rented a place here in Oceanside (2016), we picked one that was on the strand, i.e. as close to the water as possible. Big mistake! I didn't realize that cars paraded up and down the strand day and night just inches from our front door, nor did I know that high surf threw rocks up on the road that were raucously removed by a mini earth mover each morning (see extra from 2016). So the next year we started renting the place I'm in now that is three blocks from the beach and has a lovely fenced in yard. Pure bliss!
