Flaming Flowers

I came across these amazing flowers out on my walk this morning..the sun really enhanced the red and orange colours. They are growing in a small piece of woodland near Headley Hall.

I had no idea what they are..but Google suggests berberis darwinii..

I wonder if they have grown from seed ‘deposited’ by birds..after consuming the berries :-)

I managed to line them up with some dark vegetation as a background which really shows them off nicely
