Are All Predators Monsters To Their Prey?

On This Day In History
1987: Torture chamber uncovered in Philadelphia

Quote Of The Day
"These people live among us, and when they're intelligent like Gary was, it's an even more dangerous combination because they can get away with it for a long period of time and go unnoticed ..... But sooner or later they will make a mistake."
(Chuck Peruto, Gary Heidnik's attorney)

Bonus Quote Of The Day
"Satan shoved a cookie down my throat so I can't talk."
(Gary Heidnik)

"Psychopath" and "serial killer" seem such tiny terms to apply to a monster like Gary Heidnik. So too does "criminally insane." "Monster" and "evil" seem far more suited. (I will spare you an explanation of the monstrous crimes Gary Heidnik committed; I looked it up, and I really wish I hadn't. Search for yourself if you wish.)

Like Heidnik, many of these monsters claim to have been obsessed by demons or by Satan. Psychologists claim that this is a ploy to gain a lighter sentence. That may be true sometimes, but could it be that some of them really were possessed by evil spirits? Again, psychologists say that people are too eager to believe in the possibility of demonic possession because we are afraid to believe that human beings are capable of committing such evil crimes themselves. However, when I was working as a volunteer in a rehabilitation programme for the criminally insane, a nurse who worked in the prison assured me that she had witnessed many times inmates displaying classic symptoms of demonic or spiritual possession.

This week's episode of Paranormal Nightmare captures some compelling visual and auditory evidence of an evil spirit haunting a reformed inmate trying desperately to get right with God.

Did I have a brush with the paranormal last night? Maybe. I woke up in the early morning with a tickly cough. I got up to have a drink and a throat sweet. A few minutes after going back to bed I heard a tap at the window. I turned my head towards the window, opened my eyes and, a couple of seconds after opening my eyes, the Millenium Falcon night light which belonged to my brother and which I bought from England switched itself on. Yes, switched; it is necessary to slide a switch in order to turn this on and I have only turned it on a very few times. The heart in the extra is the container for what remains of my brother's ashes after I scattered the rest on Portsdown Hill.

Was that my brother's spirit alerting me to his presence? Who knows? It wouldn't be the first time a deceased member of my family possibly used Star Wars to reassure me that their spirit lives on in another realm. It's a surefire way to get my attention. You can read about what happened here.
