Today the first leaves on the horse chestnut tree burst from their buds. This is earlier than usual - I always remember it being at the beginning of April. 

I took the car in for its MOT and came home on the bus. The only other passenger was a young man who I recognised from TUP. He was on his way to do some work experience at the donkey sanctuary and we had a nice chat, nearly all of it about horses. Carriage driving is his big passion.

I took the dogs up into the forest and did some more gardening - finished cutting back the dogwood - and then I read my book outside for a bit. I could get used to not having a job...
