Green Winged Teal …

… or a Eurasian Teal? It’s a new bird for me. But it didn’t look as small as the descriptions in Wikipedia so I’m a bit flummoxed. In the extra is a rather handsome bird, which has bluish colour rather than a green colour on its wing feathers, could that be the Blue Winged Teal? There are about 20 of them near the Villeneuve Hide. Another extra of a pair to see the female. 

A very busy day for many reasons ending in an emergency visit to the ophthalmologist, my eyes were streaming and I thought it must be the drops he gave me last week for glaucoma . Turns out my tear ducts were blocked again, what a relief! The good news is the drops are already working and the eye pressure has gone down a little bit already.
