I Ended Up …

… walking in a whiteout. I hadn’t intended to go as far as this signpost almost buried in the snow. Those signposts are normally around 2m high. I had forgotten how the path goes beyond the Alpage Farm called La Vare (extra) if you don’t take the direct track which I missed in the fog that had suddenly descended. Thank goodness a couple of people had done the same route a couple of days ago and their tracks were vaguely there! All of this snow yet on the south facing slopes, no snow at all. The Chamois were happy, it’s been an easy winter for them (another extra taken before the fog).


Now I’m properly tired, 5 hours to do a route that normally takes me 2.5 hours in the summer! Hope you’ve had a good weekend too.
