The D is Silent

Today's quiz - what is this a pun of? (If you can read it). Scientists are well renowned for a quirky sense of humour, and sometimes they try too hard as is the case here. That's why I don't think I fit the mould. I'm too funny!

Day 2 of 4 of the conference. Some more relevant stuff this morning. Although was denied breakfast this morning for being "local". However at mid morning coffee break there was still a vat of bacon ("warning - contains pork" sign and all) sitting next to the pastries.

Stayed until lunch (free food) and had packed bike in back of car to cycle back to the lab during poster session (nothing relevant). Only a about a mile and beat people who drove, parked and walked back. Spent a good few hours getting decent result and sorting out our databases amongst other things.

By time I had finished I had missed start of evening session. Decided to cycle back to pick car up, then home to walk babe (had friend walk her at lunch) rather than her being left so long again.

Decided against going back (mainly for free dinner) as still full and talks also not interesting. Noticed boss wasn't there either as still in office when left the lab.

So hanging out with babe, before picking the wife up at 11pm from the airport after returning from Portland tonight.
