Laugh And Be Happy

A great end to “The Waiting Room” last night. One of our best performances and we definitely finished on a high. I dodged the pub crawl that took place afterwards due to needing to be on top form this afternoon for “The Incident Room” tech rehearsal.
That went ok, though there are still a few issues that will need to be sorted before tomorrow’s dress rehearsal.
And then it was on to the highlight of the day - Rob Beckett at Kendal Leisure Centre. A decent set - all him, no support - though some of the material was obviously aimed at city dwellers (he is from London, after all) and fell a bit flat. This was not the crowd to be telling jokes to about farmers paying inheritance tax!
Second half was better than the first and it was, all things considered, a good night out. Would I go and see him again though? Probably not - he was funny, but not laugh till you cry funny like some of the other comedians we have seen in the last twelve months.
But it was nice to be on the other side of the proscenium arch for a change!
