Retirement Party

H, far right top picture and bottom middle was cooking her last supper as after many years she is retiring from doing the catering at the Gliding Club. Her swan song was a fabulous 3 course meal which she cooked for 103 people. I know, as I helped lay the tables! There were quite a few choices for starters, mains and puddings which we had all pre-ordered. H had quite a few helpers in the kitchen, including her husband D and my lovely friend Fi, and with the aid of some others, service was amazing, as were our meals.

H must have been very touched by the number of people who had wanted, not only to sample her great cooking, but to see her for the last time in the 'Ridge Runners' Retreat' (kitchen) and to thank her for all her hard work. She will be a very hard act to follow. A group of lovely people came all the way from Holland. They have over the years come to fly for a week at this very iconic GlidingClub on the Long Mynd, Shropshire. 

It was a really super evening with so many lovely people to see and talk to, some I hadn't seen for far too long.

Mr HB and I stayed the night in one of the bedrooms and didn't stay up too late, the party went on for quite a while though!
