Cabbage tree silhouetted by pre-dawn light

Another early start this morning, and I took this shot on our way back down the hill, before the sun came up.

We're fortunate to be in bright sunshine still, here on the eastern end of the hills as I can see that most of Christchurch and the hills to the south are now covered in low southerly cloud. Seems like we'll miss it here. Castle Rock looks magnificent poking out from its mantle of cloud. I need it to do this nearer the ends of the day to make a good photograph, but I'm enjoying looking at it now.
