Everyday Life

Pomp and Circumstance

We decided yesterday that we'd go today and have a look round inside the Guildhall above the Stonebow. It's very interesting, with some fascinating historical items that have been given to the city over the centuries of its existence. One day we will have to join a proper guided tour and learn a bit more about them. My Blip shows one of the Mayor's ceremonial robes.

Last night we watched the rugby, and Wigan lost to Leeds by two points. (We lost by a lot more than that in this fixture last year, and we did alright, so I'm not too concerned...yet) The main issue is that three players, two of whom are key, are still out injured. One is precautionary and he'll soon be back. The others may take a little longer. There's a couple of others on the long term injury list whose season hasn't started yet, so they'll become available again at some point too.

We've been watching an excellent series on Apple TV called Severance. It's a sci-fi psychological thriller,  similar to the kind of thing Black Mirror might do. The storyline is quite fascinating and there's some fairly big names involved - Patricia Arquette and Christopher Walken.

We're going to watch some more TV rugby league now. I hope it won't be too long before we can afford to go to live games again...
