Bonfire

We are hoping to build an extension later this year so it was decided to take out the bay tree that had got far too big for the position I planted it in.
Daughter J manned the various saws & I moved the plants from around it. It came down easily until we got to the main trunk which didn’t give in without a fight but it’s down now & all burnt or chopped up onto the brown bin.
We also took out a shrub that had got far too big on the boundary fence & that was put on the fire too.
We have a wren that’s nest building in the front hedge, it comes into the back garden & sings loudly then flies down & into the well. A few minutes later it comes out of the well with a beak full of moss & flies back to the hedge, it’s lovely to watch.
