My Beautiful Girl
I love this little one!
We had her consultants appointment this morning. I thought it was just a general chat and follow up to her endoscopy so I wasn't unduly worried.
The good news is she's grown over 4cm since February.
The bad news is they wanted to take bloods.
I said last time that if I never had to do that again it'd be too soon.....
They took my worries really seriously and got the super-duper phlebotomist down to check out Miss L's veins. She pronounced herself confident that she'd get blood. Fighting talk!
The nurse put magic cream on her arms, wrapped her in cling film and bandages and said she'd see us in 45 minutes.
Annoying as we'd been there for 45 minutes and they could have put the cream on when we arrived. But never mind, it gave us the chance to have tea and cake in Costa which is always a joy with Miss L.
When I told her it was time to go back up she ran up the stairs ahead of me. That's my girl!
The play specialist had a Beauty and the Beast book and she got Miss L to find different things in the pictures while the phlebotomist worked her magic.
It's such a cliché but I was expecting her to start any minute and for Miss L to start screaming and struggling when she said "All done!"
Amazing!
We then spent half an hour - literally half an hour! - trying to get out of the JR. First to find a working cashpoint so I could pay for the parking, then up and down in lifts trying in vain to find the way out to the car park. We ended up in the basement and then the floor above where we started then on the floor below where we had to get out to let a patient's bed in...... Oh my God I felt like crying.
Eventually back on the floor we started on I walked back past the cash machine and found the escalator to the car park.
Miss L summed it up when she said "This lift is ridiclious!!"
Having escaped we went to the strawberry farm to meet Miss E and my mum, Mrs C, Mrs S and their boys. Oh and it turned out Mrs L and Cousin T were there too!
Scrummy food, raspberry and carrot picking, bouncing, climbing and ice creams. Pretty good!
