Feeling loved
I’ve had a most enjoyable day today, which was my 77th birthday. Smithers and I spent a happy couple of hours in the Atrium café this morning, enjoying the company of three of our oldest friends. There was much laughter at our table, and many smiles and hugs from other church friends who were passing by.
I’ve been thoroughly spoiled and the house is full of flowers; an indoor miniature rose garden, two beautiful bouquets, a delightful posy of my favourite spring flowers from a friend’s garden, a bunch of tulips and a potted hydrangea.
This afternoon our middle son and his family joined us after the girls came home from school, along with The Traveller and his girlfriend, and we all enjoyed supper together, followed by a slice of iced lemon cake which served as Granny’s birthday cake. Granny sensibly opted for just the one candle, which little H enjoyed blowing out for me.
