Timber!

I drove up to the Edge today ( Wenlock Edge) and had a good few hours exploring and documenting all the fallen trees, brought down in the recent storms. It was a sad sight, almost as if a giant  hand had swept through the forest.

This particular pine was a good sixty feet in length and had been snapped off at the base like a piece of matchwood. I wondered at the forces of nature that could do that.

If you are able to zoom in you will clearly see the rings within the fallen trunk. At least forty years old, if not more.

All part of nature's plan, I'm sure.

But with other trees swaying and creaking in the wind, I didn't hang around.

Hollie had a good run and enjoyed the day.

A tired doggie tonight...
