Changed my bedlinen and towels this morning and then went out into the garden to try to work out why the solar lights G and C bought me for my birthday weren’t coming on. I thought there had to be on/off switches somewhere although the instructions didnt mention them . I eventually found them by unscrewing the globes from the holder - there was a tiny switch on the indide of the holder.
Went into town to meet Ji for brunch. We tried a new cafe and I had very good coffee and delicious fancy scrambled eggs on toast. Will definitely go there again!
Went up the Playhouse, negotiating the huge obstacle course which is the massive road and pavement works. The closures are different every week.
It was Jo’s last week with us and we made these lovely origami stars with the paper from old books. It was tricky to get all the folds right at the beginning, and then difficult to construct them from the eight individual points, but some of us got it sorted in the end. For some reason no-one else managed to get the 3D effect that I did though- theirs just ended up flat!
Went for the usual coffee snd a chocolate afterwards and then met the man who moved into a house next door but 2 a couple of months ago. He was very friendly and told me all about their plans for an extension, including a studio for his wife who does various crafts. Hopefully I will meet her sometime soon.
As soon as I got home I folded one of the points for the star in the hope that will mean I can recreate them for Christmas if I want to.
