Fenwick's window congratulations

Following my current Thursday routine, today I left the house for Newcastle at 7:45am and returned twelve hours later at 7:45pm. I looked out for a celebratory blip on my way to Mummy hazelh's care home. Fenwick's window display obliged.

My visit today was very similar to that of last week. We watched Irish and Scottish folk music and a programme about fishing on my computer, ran through the 'Where am I/Why am I here/What aren't I at home?' conversation loop on repeat, and chatted to Christopher (the visiting husband I see most visits). We discovered today that Christopher and Mummy hazelh both learnt to swim in the same stretch of river around the same time in the 1940s. Mummy hazelh declared that she must have first met Christopher in the water around 75 years ago.

While I was at the care home, Rachel sent me an email about our journal article. I'd actually been working on it on my journey to Newcastle so I sent her the updated version of the manuscript. While Rachel is eager to get it out for review, I think it needs a bit more work to guarantee a favourable outcome - not least because the last time that I submitted to the target journal, I received a desk rejection directly from the editor. However, since Rachel is the lead author, the decision on when to submit the paper is hers.

While I was out, Mr hazelh had another horrible day trying to sort out the computer problems of friends and family.

Exercise today: walking (21,445 steps).
