Taken from the car window on leaving Adrian’s house. Hence the grey smudge and the flare.  Beautiful spring day, at least from the inside.  Turns out driving to Adrian direct, without picking up Manda at Newbury and putting in the correct postcode means it really isn’t that far.  I  felt sleepy at one point and stopped off for a Red Bull, something I haven’t done for years. It was exquisitely disgusting as always but it woke me up enough to barrel on through.

Adrian isn’t well, he has a degenerative illness but I was pleased to see he was better than when I visited him last autumn.  I think then he was awaiting surgery and in pain.  We go back a very long way and so, even though he can’t speak above a low whisper, we have enough shared history to make each other laugh.  And his daft dog helped too.

I took this after leaving the house, pausing on the Green to check my Sat Nav to get me out of the Oxfordshire plane, no features, only fields, few navigation points.  The drive home was uneventful and I listened to my new book, Dream Count on Audible. I don’t have car play, just my phone in a holder and one AirPod in.   Bit basic but it works.

We watched the second episode of Adolescence - the one in the school. Disturbing and depressing. Terrific performance from Ashley Walters I thought.
