Priories and Wells
We visited Wells-next-the-Sea first with a superbly beautiful beach but with an overly touristy vibe. We stayed long enough to allow Jak to have a good run on the beach then moved on to Binham Priory - an English Heritage Benedictine monastic ruin first founded in 1091 and destroyed during the reign of good old king 'Enery VIII.
This one is unusual in that the nave of the priory church is still in use today as the parish church.
We enjoyed the peace and beauty of the area while eating our lunch before exploring the church and the ruins. The weather was glorious too and brought out the insect life, in search of food.
