Roof Maintenance.

This is a roofing slate which I found embedded in the grass. It has fallen from the roof. Indeed, I heard it sliding down the roof slope.

The nail which has held it in position for nearly 200 years has corroded through.

Our friendly roofing contractor is due to inspect the roof and clean out any debris from the rhones, also known as gutters.
