The New Club

I had a day working in the RSE, although not "for the RSE".... Mainly, I was doing my own meetings, etc., but I did have one in person meeting this morning and also an in person lunch (well, obviously in person) at the New Club with DE, our lovely retired judge. It was great fun and quite relaxing in and amongst a busy and quite stressful day.

Going to the New Club is yet one more of those things that makes me feel like a Pillock of the establishment. However, DE did me a favour by reminding me that I should probably dress more formally than I often do. You have to just accept a cheeky 90 year old. When I had a slightly sticky work meeting on Teams later, it added considerably to my visible sense of authority to be wearing a jacket... I also channeled the spirit of @ridgeback13 in her prior professional role when dealing withmy reluctant staff member.
