New Book

One advantage of being temporarily laid up is the chance to catch up on some reading.  I had this book in mind for a while and it arrived on Friday.  I had finished it by Sunday! 

It is one woman's story of the impact of multiple tours of Iraq and Afghanistan as an RAF Chinook Loadmaster (crewman) between 2003 and 2014.  Many more involved have written their stories with similar impact. We should be thankful that they are still here to tell those stories, many did not return. 

 I also read today of the sad passing of the last Battle of Britain fighter pilot, Group Captain John "Paddy" Hemingway. Rest in Peace sir, and thank you for your service.
