Today I decided to batch cook some pasta and sauce. Cooking is an area of life I have never developed, especially with moving around so much. But there is something satisfying and calming about it, mainly because it takes away other stimuli for the period during which you’re doing it. This may be one of the reasons why it’s all the rage.
I remain what could be very fairly termed basic in all areas of food consumption. I nearly had a panic attack last week when the new friends I made asked me which restaurants I like to frequent. ‘Anywhere with carbs and chilli sauce’.
I usually eat for sustenance, not for exquisite enjoyment. Except for ice cream. That always goes down the hatch, whatever the moment. It is the food of the gods.
