Tomsta!

That is what the Gavin and his brothers call Tommy, although I never do. When Tommy was born he was always called Thomas or Thom, but when he got to senior school and 'became his own man' he asked everyone to call him Tommy - I admit it took me months to get used to calling him Tommy. I certainly can't change now and start calling him Tomsta... Anyway, a photo of the young man just because he is home this weekend.

Today was sunny but there was an icy wind again, so whatever the temperature was meant to be it did not feel like it. Gavin and I went for a long walk with Xena, it was not muddy and very pleasant, and when sheltered from the wind it felt lovely in the sunshine.

We decided to go to Gavin's golf club for a Sunday roast, their food is excellent and being a club it is very inexpensive. We all had roast lamb and it was absolutely delicious, I doubt I could have produced such tender delicious lamb as that.

This morning I also made some healthy granola bars, full of nuts for protein. Snack bars you buy are so full of sugar and preservatives that I thought I would rather make my own healthy ones. I find on these photography workshops that meals are often at irregular hours, so you need something healthy to eat in the morning. We will probably get up at 4.30am and then not eat breakfast/brunch until 11am so a good snack will be needed.

Tommy has now gone to London to meet his university friends. I packed for my trip away to Dorset tomorrow - the first day there looks like it will be very cold, especially for those pre-sunrise early mornings outside but from Wednesday it warms up. I have packed three different jackets...well it goes from -2C in the early morning to 15C by Thursday midday, so one jacket will not suit those conditions.

I have also booked another photography trip for November 2026...they have to be booked long in advance as they get booked up so quickly.

Last night Tommy and I watched A Real Pain on TV for which Kieran Culkin was awarded an Oscar for the best supporting actor. It was enjoyable, different and was worthy of a discussion afterwards.
