The Great Rann of Kutch

Another long day with many impressions. The most impressive was The Great Rann of Kutch, one of the world's largest salt marshes with an area of around 7,500 square kilometres. During the monsoon season, the area fills up with stagnant water and is now drying up again. The border with Pakistan is about 50 kilometres in the direction of view (the nearest point of our journey).
Apart from us, only the local family on the blip visited the salt desert.

A little before reaching the salt desert, we stopped for tea to avoid the excessively hot afternoon temperatures. Three cheerful boys ran the little rest stop and the preparation of the tea was a ceremony in itself (see extra).
