I cut the garden grass and faffed with old photos so no time to shoot for blip. Luckily this Leonardo AW109SP GrandNew, belonging to Sloane helicopters, flew over. It was on its way to Elstree from Wethersfield.

In the 1950s The Alan Kirby Band, which MrQ used to play with, played for dances at American camps, including Wethersfield in Essex. MrQ was struck by the modern luxury in comparison with life in the UK in the 50s. The band was runner up in the Melody Maker competition for best dance band in 1951.
