Winging our way
Now for a series of back Blips taken of our holiday in Madeira.
Going out I had a window seat and sat next to a Romanian couple from Western-super-Mare with their year old baby. He had a barber's business and she had been sick with Covid for a long time but was well on the way to recovery and the baby was a delight. They had been in UK for 8 years and had left their country as they did not like the Russian threat - drones come over every day where they were living.
The approach to Funchal airport runway is one of the most difficult and scary in Europe and the runway is built on concrete stilts with roads running underneath! The pilots have to be especially trained and there is a very awkward turn on to it and if the plane does not stop in time the final destination will be the sea! Successful landing!
The extra is the view from my hotel balcony.
