Long-tailed drake splashdown

The tide was very low on Scapa Bay, which exposed a lot of mud attracting lots of waders, but it also meant that they were quite distant. There were 4 bar-tailed godwit, 50+ oystercatcher, curlew, redshanks, turnstones, ringed plovers eiders, red-breasted mergansers, shag, cormorant, my first red-throated diver of spring, a single guillemot and 8 black guillemots, which I think is the most I have seen by the pier. Five were in summer plumage and three still in winter, like the one in extra.
