Rat poison peddler
We went to Birmingham art gallery to see the Rembrandt etchings on display there,
Some of them were absolutely tiny and you needed a magnifying glass to see the finely etched detail.
There was a short video explaining how etchings are made , and some of the tools are shown in the collage.
I thought the rat poison peddler was an appropriate one to show as Birmingham is in the grip of a refuse collectors strike at the moment and we are being shown ever more horrific photos on the news of piles of rubbish building up , with happy looking fat rats scurrying amongst the bags. Uuurrgghh! and Yuk!
I loathe rats. Luckily they, the refuse collectors , seem to be managing to keep the city centre reasonably rubbish free. Or I wouldn’t have gone there!
There was also a display of the Wildlife photographer of the year photos in a separate hall, with some stunning shots on display.
A good day out.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s Blipmeet at Bletchley park if anyone is able to go at this short notice.
