This morning's walk and other stuff

I walked down past Taylor Park on my way to Morrisons for a couple of bits and noticed the daffodils were in flower - they are not all in flower yet but still looked lovely so I had a brief photo stop before continuing.
Got three plants at Morrisons and one was completely pot-bound (lavatera) so after lunch I embarked on planting it in a good-sized pot. I used multi-purpose compost, some topsoil and some of our own compost. Gave it a good water and couldn't be bothered doing anything with the other 2 plants yet. The others are fill-in plants so I will most likely plant them straight out in the garden.
A definite drop in temp today - felt quite chilly after the lovely weather we had recently.
Terry has been replacing our drain covers with better ones - they are ones he has made from a piece of metal with small holes in it. The ones we bought some time ago were useless as they didn't fit and didn't stay in place so then he made some grill-type covers but the leaves managed to get caught in the gaps (despite the gaps being small) so when he was at B&Q yesterday he spotted a sheet of metal that looked like it would make 2 covers if he cut it and they fit perfectly. Not only that but they look really nice. Terry has cut some new pieces of wood for the fence near the front path - some of the uprights were warped and he's been painting them this afternoon, plus he has fixed a hook on the house wall to hold the gate back instead of the half brick we've been using!.
