Portrait of a Woodland Chamois …

… that has had an easy winter, she is so healthy.

A morning walk from home to Villars, the ski station, a climb of nearly 700m, having forgotten how steep and long that walk is!  I was seriously pooped at the top but delighted to see this chamois crossing our path into the lower woodlands. (It also gave me a good excuse to rest!)

This afternoon I decided to crack on with the garden clearing as the promised rain held off, whilst keeping an eye on Preston. He seems as tired as I am now. It was his longest outside session with all the smells and croaking frogs, since his amputation. Early night for everyone tonight.
