Wine Barrels
This morning we were walking along a pleasant creek path flanked for a few hundred yards by the backs of some big warehouses on one side and the creek on the other. We were talking about how it feels like the world has been turned upside down and how frustrating it is that nobody seems to be able to do anything about so many actions that are clearly illegal, unconstitutional, corrupt, cruel and morally bankrupt. And yet...our little world has changed very little. It's a bit like waiting for the other shoe to drop...
The wine barrels on the photo were left behind in a warehouse when demand for them dropped. Several wineries have closed in the last few months and others are claiming reduced demand and poor crops. Other wineries aren't using wooden barrels anymore so some of these might be moving on to be cut in half to become planters, or deconstructed and turned into furniture.
Dana is on her way to Mexico for a week and Jim just dropped Blake off because he is on his way to San Diego for a business meeting and a visit with Will and Chloe. John's comment was. "We're all alone now". At first I thought it was an odd thing for him to say since we just had a very big dog dropped off here, but then I realized he was commenting on how dependent we have become on those two, or at least knowing they are there. I'm glad there are still some things we can do for them....
For some reason, my computer won't publish comments. I am working on it but there may not be (m)any until I figure it out. Jim just fixed my phone and my computer so that I can receive email again, but this seems to be a Blipfoto problem. Has anyone else had it?
Late edit: I don’t know what happened but it seems to be fixed.
