Filing
After work, I went out to buy anchovies. I'd found a recipe to use up the oversized courgettes delivered in last week's vegetable delivery. It was a pasta sauce made of courgettes with anchovy, garlic, and chilli. It was swift to make—which was the point—but it was a bit flavourless.
Afterwards, we watched the BBC's Monday night games and quizzes: Mastermind, Chess Master, and University Challenge. At first, we were OK with the general knowledge rounds but were stumped by many of the University Challenge questions. We also caught up on last week's Only Connect final—which we missed by being at our pub quiz.
Before heading to bed at the end of the day, I had to search through all my paper-based files to locate my birth certificate. As with last Friday, I find I am often asked to produce my passport or my driving licence to use as identity, but I have not needed my birth certificate for a long time. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find it, but after searching through the files, I found it was more or less where I thought it was. It's completed in quite flowery handwriting. I am glad I know my own name; otherwise, it might be pretty tricky to decipher.
