Our Lady’s Island…
…has been joined to the mainland by a sand spit for some considerable time, but in Anglo-Norman times it was a fortified island to prevent the locals from chucking the Brits and the French back into the sea. It rather looks like it may be an island again soon.
A full day of touristing at Hook Lighthouse (oldest in the world), Tintern Abbey, Fethard, Sigginstown Castle, Tacumshane Thatched Windmill, Meyler’s Bar (pee stop) and Rosslare Strand for ice-cream.
Back to Blackwater now and I’m pooped.
