Omaha Beach…

….Curracloe. Tom Hanks et al hung about here for a bit filming the Normandy landing scenes for Saving Private Ryan.

Earlier, I started the day with Irish Butter, Irish Soda Bread (toast) and Irish Marmalade.

Then to the beach for a stroll before heading down to T Morris pub in Wexford for a couple of pints of plain as we watched the egg chasers of Ireland being scrambled by their French counterparts. The half-time free ‘beige’ snacks were much enjoyed. Next, we headed to Saucers Bar, in Blackwater, to watch the Scottish egg chasers make heavy weather of cracking the Welsh. I was on the Guinness 0.0, a most drinkable alternative to the full leaded version.
